The Bridges Dolmuș transforms music lessons at elementary school into a transcultural session for class orchestras.

With the Bridges Dolmuș, pupils not only learn about music, but also understand it intuitively by making music themselves from the very beginning: In the class orchestra, they play specially composed pieces based on rhythms such as Nyabinghi, Bossa Nova or Malfouf together with Bridges musicians. They experience transcultural music and learn to communicate with each other by making music together.

The concept idea was developed in 2021/2022, was tested from summer 2022 with individual concerts and events and has since been implemented annually at the Günderrodeschule in Frankfurt. The instruments used include the darbuka, tonguedrum and tenbur.

The Bridges Dolmuș can be used as a one-day instrument carousel or as a project lasting several weeks. No previous instrumental training is necessary.
