Hobby-Ensemble Dusti

Our ensemble Dusti (Persian for friendship) consists of amateur musicians and plays transcultural music from North, South, East and West.

In their ensemble, the musicians interweave sounds and instruments from different contexts – full of timbres, anecdotes and danceable rhythms. In weekly, creative rehearsals, each ensemble member contributes in their own way – with song suggestions, rhythmic or improvisational talents, conciliatory humor, culinary skills, knowledge of music history and language skills that enable the ensemble to delve deep into the interpretative level of the music.

The ensemble was founded in early 2022 under the direction of Samira Memarzadeh. Alireza Meghrazi Solouklou (Kamanche) is currently in charge.

The ensemble performs two to three times a year and combines instruments such as sitar, kanun, cello, accordion, harp, flute, percussion and bağlama.
