With their family concert Kranichgeschichten – Musik, die fliegen kann, the Turnalar Quartett invites children, their parents, grandparents, friends and groups to listen to music from many countries and across many borders, to accompany it with rhythms and to be inspired to dance or tell their own stories.
Cranes are a symbol of hope, longing and freedom in many cultures. There are countless songs and stories about them – some of them are presented in this programme.
With clarinet, cello, tar, Iranian percussion and lots of singing, the Turnalar Quartett plays music from Turkey, Iran, Israel and Germany.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to make music together with the musicians and to dance. In addition, paper cranes can be folded to create a sculpture that grows from concert to concert.
